Special Projects Manager

Details: Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Special Projects Manager is responsible for actively supporting and/or leading complex projects or programs globally across functional and strategic areas. Planning, management, and implementation of strategic objectives will lead to enhancing revenue, improving quality and/or efficiency, improving processes, affecting cost savings and innovating new products. Function as a liaison between operations, sales, research and development, and engineering to create, implement and improve products and create new products Provide regular updates to the Vice President of Operations regarding activities and opportunities Function in strategic manner to take products to market utilizing current or prospective operational capabilities in coordination with research and development, category directors, and sales and marketing. Identify production inefficiencies and work with other departments and operations staff to improve processes and procedures Work with sales department in the evaluation of new business opportunities to support operational efficiency and growth Evaluate opportunities from the marketplace and customers and assess with current or potential capabilities Understand current customer base and required raw material operational demands Work with research and development to understand current processes and determine potential products based on sales and operational knowledge Operationally support research and development to respond efficiently to new customer requests Partner with engineering to develop process improvements in current plant capabilities Coordinate all new product development activities between manufacturing and Innovation Manage raw material procurement and scheduling including price optimization, cost effectiveness, innovative uses for new raw materials and maximizing use of current raw materials, Establish, maintain and update alternative raw material suppliers to identify new opportunities
