ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF) : The Select Relationship Manager (SRM) reports to the Branch Manager and is critical to delivering appropriate financial solutions to KeyBank's mass affluent client base requiring a minimum of $100,000 of investable assets. The SRM focuses on acquiring new mass affluent clients and to expand relationships with existing mass affluent clients. He/She will develop a comprehensive understanding of mass affluent client needs by using KeyBank's technology to gather and document client data and assess financial needs. Effectively manages a book of business by identifying products and services to meet client needs and/or referring to appropriate sales professionals in Retail, Investment Services, Mortgage or Business Banking. Maintains an awareness of the competitive landscape and leverages that knowledge to better serve the clients. Meets or exceeds established sales, cross- sell and referral goals with a strong focus on investments and insurance. Fully participates in branch activity as directed by the Branch Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The role of the SRM is to develop new and expand existing mass affluent client relationships by consistently delivering solutions that meet the financial needs of our clients. The SRM is responsible for functions that align with the Key Sales Process and Consultative Sales Process Framework (Opportunity Management, Needs Assessment, Present/Pitch, Fulfillment, and Follow Up) in daily work to create a positive client experience. This includes: Opportunity Management - Manages and grows a profitable book of business to achieve individual and team goals. - Develops and maintains an in- depth knowledge of mass affluent products and services as well as knowledge of competitive products and services. - Calls Book of Business and system generated leads identified in the Desktop to prospect for cross sell and retention; documenting activities by using the call report feature in the desktop. - Employs a disciplined approach to prospecting; documents calling efforts. - Continually monitors mass affluent client base and looks to upstream clients into Key Private Bank. - Builds mass affluent client referral pipeline via identification and development of internal and external centers of influence. Needs Assessment - Develops new and expands existing mass affluent client relationships by participating in business development activities, proactively reviewing clients' current and changing financial needs, and promoting products and services. - Delivers distinctive client experience through a complete understanding of the client needs by asking open- ended and probing questions, using active listening skills and focused conversation. Present/Pitch - Collaborates with business partners by making referrals and conducting joint calls to deepen the client relationship. - Promotes and cross- sells products and services to clients by informing clients of products, services, special promotions, and provides appropriate financial solutions. - Actively listens to concerns, presents a clear concise picture and provides the client with a tailored solution to close the sale. Fulfillment - Accurately completes new account documentation and system input according to Key's policies and procedures. - Ensures that new customer relationships consistently meet all compliance requirements. Follow- Up - Ensures ongoing contact with new clients to enhance client's initial experience with Key. - Contributes to the branch profitability by participating in branch initiatives. Additional Responsibilities - Actively participates in daily branch team meetings. - Mentors other branch employees, as requested by the Branch Manager. - May require automobile travel to meet with clients at various off- site locations. - May service clients at a single or multiple branches. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : - High School Diploma or equivalent experience. - Minimum of 1 year experience in financial services with mass affluent customers, achieving sales goals and building referral sources in insurance and investment products. - Proficiency in sales and service techniques, including tele- consulting, prospecting and networking. - Excellent communications skills and ability to work in a team environment. - Strong financial acumen. - Understand commercial lending and small business operations. - FINRA Series 6 and 63 investment licenses, Life and State Insurance License. * ( Employees in this job are required to comply with all rules and regulations of The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (The SAFE Act).) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Undergraduate degree in a business related field. Employees hired or transferring into this position will need to meet the qualification requirements, in Key's sole discretion, under Reg. Z, prior to acting as a loan originator in a consumer credit transaction secured by a dwelling.
